We adopt a British style of education with small classes conducted in English, supplemented with extra tutorials. We incorporate case studies, group discussion, and individual presentations into the day-to-day teaching to facilitate students’ learning. With the student-oriented approach, we help students adapt to an international learning environment and encourage them to become independent learners. Our pastoral care and teaching team will tailor their curriculum according to their career and university preferences, to include a full range of extra-curricular activities, internships and career and university application advice—enabling students to advance into their preferred universities.
It is critical to ensure that our academic and boarding provision are of the highest standard. Regular management reports on academic standards, the boarding provision, pastoral care, staffing and other key educational issues will be presented to the College Council, which includes delegates from Malvern College UK, reputable educators and business leaders. Quarterly meetings of the Management Committee and a bi-annual Council meeting will ensure that state of the art ideas and best practice are being incorporated in the College’s day-to-day operations. A regular quality audit will be conducted by Malvern College UK to ensure that the College’s educational provision is of global standards, and will include, where appropriate, recommendations for improvement.
After the successful completion of their studies at Malvern College Chengdu, students will obtain their Graduation Certificate from Malvern College UK, as well as IGCSE and International A Level examination certificates from internationally recognised examination boards.
We accept students nationwide, but focus our student recruitment in Sichuan, Guizhou, Yunnan Provinces and Chongqing City.
The Management Committee of Malvern College Chengdu consists of graduates from Harvard, Oxford and Cambridge. Over the years, the team has conducted a significant amount of research into the learning methodologies of leading secondary schools around the world as well as the personal development processes in place at preeminent multinational firms, through their work at McKinsey and Goldman Sachs.
Our foreign teaching experts are recruited from UK, America and Australia, and hold internationally recognized certificates with rich teaching experience. We foster a low pupil teacher ratio (currently 8:1), to ensure high-level teaching quality. An Academic Development and Quality Control Committee from Malvern College UK will carry out an overall teaching evaluation regularly to ensure we conform to rigorous academic standards.
